Emergency Garage Door Repair in King County — 24 Hours a Day
A broken spring does not wait for business hours, and a door stuck halfway open leaves the house standing open. We answer the phone around the clock. Our base is in Bellevue, so the Eastside – Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Sammamish, Issaquah, Newcastle – is the closest work we do, and Seattle, Renton, Kent and the south end are part of the area we cover. Tell us where you are and what the door is doing, and we will give you a realistic window on the phone rather than a hopeful one.
Garage Door Services We Provide in King County
Garage Door Spring Replacement
Torsion and extension springs carry almost the whole weight of the door, so when one snaps the door becomes a several-hundred-pound object with nothing holding it. Springs are rated in cycles, not years, which is why they fail on a fairly predictable schedule. We stock the common sizes on the truck.
Cable and Roller Replacement
A frayed cable or a seized roller makes the door pull to one side, bind in the track, or drop unevenly. Caught early it is a cheap fix. Left alone it takes the track and the panels with it.
Off-Track Door Repair
Doors come off track after an impact, a snapped cable, or a roller that finally gave out. Do not run the opener again once it happens – that is how a bent track turns into a bent door. We reset the door, replace what failed, and check the balance before we leave.
Opener Repair and Installation
Sensors, gears, control boards, remotes, and full replacements. A good share of the openers we are called out for are not broken at all: the safety sensors have drifted out of alignment and the door refuses to close.
New Garage Door Installation
Steel, insulated steel, wood, and carriage-style doors, with the old door and hardware hauled away. We will tell you honestly when a repair makes more sense than a replacement.
Maintenance and Tune-Up
Balance check, lubrication, hardware torque, sensor alignment, and a spring cycle estimate. The single cheapest thing you can do to keep a door out of the emergency-call category.
Electric Gate Repair
Swing and slide gate operators, safety loops, keypads, and intercom entry. Same trucks, same technicians.
Signs Your Garage Door Needs Repair
If any of these describe your door, stop using it and call. A door that is still moving is not the same as a door that is safe.
- The door reverses on its own partway down, or will not close at all.
- A loud bang from the garage, and then the door will not lift.
- Grinding, scraping, or a rhythmic squeal as the door travels.
- The door is visibly crooked in the opening, or one side lags behind the other.
- You can see a gap in the coil of the spring above the door.
- The door will not stay put when you lift it halfway by hand – that is a balance problem, and the opener is carrying the load.
- The remote works from two feet away and nowhere else.

What We See on King County Doors
A lot of the Eastside housing stock went up between the mid-nineties and the mid-2000s, and those builder-grade doors are now arriving at the end of their spring cycle count all at once. If your neighbours have been replacing springs, yours is on the same clock. Older Seattle and Renton homes bring the opposite problem: narrow alley-access garages, single-car openings, and original wood doors where the panels are heavier than anything modern hardware was sized for.
What Garage Door Repair Costs in King County
We do not post fixed prices, because a spring job on a 1970s wood door and a spring job on a new insulated steel door are not the same work.
What we do instead: tell us what the door is doing and we will give you a range on the phone before anyone drives out. The technician confirms the price in your driveway, in writing, before starting. Nothing gets discovered halfway through that doubles your bill.
Estimates are free. Ask for the number up front — any garage door company that will not give you one over the phone is telling you something.
Why King County Homeowners Call Skyline
- Based in Bellevue, not a call centre routing your job to whoever picks up.
- Open around the clock. Nights, weekends and holidays are when doors actually break.
- Repair before replacement. Plenty of doors quoted for a full replacement need one part.
- One visit where possible – common springs, cables, rollers and opener parts ride on the truck.
- A price agreed before the work, confirmed in writing in your driveway.

King County Garage Door Repair — FAQ
How much does garage door repair cost?
It depends on the door and what failed, but nearly every repair costs a fraction of a replacement. Spring replacement is the most common job and one of the more affordable ones. Opener repairs range widely depending on whether it is a sensor, a gear, or a control board. Call us, describe what the door is doing, and we will give you a range for your specific situation before we drive out.
What is the most common garage door repair?
Broken torsion springs, by a wide margin. Springs are rated on a cycle count, so they wear out on a predictable schedule. Second most common is opener trouble, and a good share of those turn out to be misaligned safety sensors rather than a failed unit.
Will homeowners insurance cover it?
Usually not for normal wear. A spring that reached the end of its rated life is maintenance, and maintenance is not covered. Sudden accidental damage is a different story – a car through the door, storm damage, a falling limb are often covered, subject to your deductible. Most deductibles run higher than most garage door repairs cost, so filing often is not worth it. Check your policy, and take photos before anything gets moved.
Do you cover Seattle as well as the Eastside?
Both are part of the area we cover. Our base is in Bellevue, so the Eastside is the closest work we do, and Seattle is across the bridges. Call and tell us the address and we will give you a window we can hold rather than a guess.
Which Eastside cities do you serve?
Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Sammamish, Issaquah, Newcastle, Woodinville, Bothell and Mercer Island. If your town is not on the list above, call and ask.
